Two weeks in GP

We spent two weeks in Grants Pass from April 19 through May 3. We connected with family and friends, but we had another purpose – for Dayle to meet with family members and consult with doctors and others about care for her parents. She spent many hours on that.

Because of the short time, we could not see everyone, but Jerome Prairie Bible Church organized an open house for us on Saturday May 2nd. Many stopped by to see us. It was wonderful. Others could not be at the event. Don’t worry. We plan to return to Grants Pass for four months beginning later this year.

We also were in GP for Elizabeth’s (Janice’s daughter) birthday party. As it turned out, Ed’s brother Dennis and his wife Delores came down for the weekend as did Ed’s sister Valerie and her hubby Jeff.  So we had a real family weekend! Unfortunately, Ed’s brother Doug was ill and missed the event. We also did some work around Janice’s house that the fire marshal ordered. There’s still more to do on that.

Dayle’s niece and medical doctor Wendy came down to visit and consult about her grandparents. Dayle is thankful for all the support and advice she got. We got Max and Eleanor out of the house for a barbecue at the home of Ciara (their granddaughter) and Andrew. A meal with Ed’s dad and Hope rounded out the week, and then Ed and his dad were able to meet for lunch another time.

We are so pleased with the care Max and Eleanor are getting from Ed’s niece Ann who lives with them and from caregivers Diane and Heather who come in several days a week.

A big thank you to Ciara who picked us up at the Medford airport and dropped us off there again. She is also taking care of our car in our absence.
